Operator XY is the 19th soundset in our series of soundsets for Omnisphere 2 where we take an iconic synthesizer, record the most important aspects of it, and recreate its characteristics in Omnisphere.

With this soundset we revisited our old homebase in Stockholm and dived into another inspiring synthesizer from the minimalistic people up north. While the Teenage Engineering OP XY isn't a direct sequel to the popular OP-1 - it's a whole new chapter taking the Teenage Engineering concept into a whole new direction. Just like with the OP-1, the XY is based on a large number of smaller synth engines, and each engine is designed to make a certain type of sound with controls that are both musical and to the point. Compared with the OP-1 the sounds from the XY are less experimental and more musical, taking inspiration from electrical keyboards, analog synths as well as digital sounding modern synthesizers.

For this soundset we recorded waveforms from the basic to the complex and advanced.
We also included drum sounds from the PO-32 Tonic, based on the Sonic Charge MicroTonic drum synthesizer. Apart from with the single presets, we also combined another 40 sounds into layered multisounds.

BONUS Assembler
Assembler is a bonus soundset only available together with the Operator XY soundset, based on sounds and recordings from Native Instruments Reaktor. Compared with the Operator XY soundset, Assember is darker, more dissonant and more unforgiving, making it into a great sonic companion to the Operator XY
